The Philippines has an estimated population of 100 million and is an archipelago that consists of about 7,641 islands. Project Capas is a 25 MW solar PV power project within the Clark Special Economic Zone (CSEZ), approximately 100 km north of Manila, the Philippines’s capital.
CI1 is developing the project together with Sindicatum Renewable Energy Company (Sindicatum), which has a proven track record in the Philippines of developing and constructing renewable energy projects.

Funding Rationale

CI1 has provided development funding to the Capas project in order to fully develop the 25 MW solar PV project and ensure the project is feasible and reaches financial close.
The Philippines, with strong GDP growth that has subsequently driven more power demand, has indicated a strong desire to lower its dependency on fossil fuels and expand its renewable energy industry.
